EFL Student Learning Motivation: A Study of Classroom-Specific Factors

Motivation plays a vital role in foreign language learning as it leads to deep, goal-oriented and persistent learning. A number of variables are associated with motivation, among which five factors viz., Teacher, Teaching Methodology, Text, Task Test. These classroom-specific can be adjustable for enhancing student motivation. This paper investigates EFL students’ perception these that influence their Renandya’s 5Ts model was used framework investigation. The instrument data collection five-point Likert Scale questionnaire included 27 items related affected motivation classroom. analyzed SPSS software version 21.00. It found the students perceived Teacher most important factor, followed by Text; Test factor considered least important. regression analysis, however, shows or materials current use were influential. findings fill gap research Vietnam’s context therefore, they theoretical practical significance.
